Winter Chain Fitting Drop-in Session

Alpine Auto Centre, AA Three Parks, and Bridgestone Wānaka have teamed up to offer two free drop-in chain-fitting events. The first session will be held on Saturday 4 July from 9am. The second is to be held on Saturday, the 25th of July.

Carrying chains is one thing — knowing how to fit them safely in winter conditions is another. With QLDC now enforcing the requirement to carry chains, and for someone in the vehicle to be able to fit them, motorists risk a $750 fine if they are not prepared.

With winter now in full swing and snow days on the horizon, we are keen to support our customers and wider community to stay safe on icy and snowy roads, while also helping avoid a hefty fine.

Bring along your vehicle and chains, and our experienced team will walk you through the fitting process. If you still need to purchase chains, Alpine Auto Centre or AA Three Parks can help you find the right fit. As an added bonus, chain purchases will include a free ice scraper, valued at $15.

AA Auto will be open from 8 am on Saturday for any last-minute chain purchases.

Booking times will be prioritised, and if you miss your allocated slot, we may only be able to fit you back in depending on demand.
